15. Texas Southern University

Location: Houston, Texas

Number of Students: 5,884

Acceptance Rate: 51%

Spend a week at Texas Southern University and you’ll question whether you’re on a college campus or in the middle of a dangerous neighborhood. The school has had a number of shootings on campus throughout the years and students have reported that they don’t feel safe. In addition to the terrible atmosphere, most students feel that the professors aren’t passionate about what they’re teaching, which isn’t helpful when it comes to inspiring and motivating students. It’s no wonder that only 17% of students stick around for graduation. However, it does let you feel like you are in an authentic Hip-Hop music video, neat cultural experience? Yea, no.
